Maaya Indian Kitchen & Bar, based at The Hub in the center of Milton Keynes, won the award for best restaurant in the whole country last year.
This week he made the shortlist again and is awaiting final judging in October.
The English Curry Awards were established 11 years ago to celebrate Asian talent in the UK curry industry. They highlight the growth of the Asian curry industry and recognize the achievements of those who work the hardest to perfect each meal.
The shortlists are determined by public vote each year and include chefs, restaurants, managers, takeaways, teams and curry schools.
Maaya co-owner Mo Abdul said, “It’s an honor to be a finalist again. Last year a dream came true and we hope we can make Milton Keynes proud again. A huge thank you to all of our staff and our amazing customers.
A spokesperson for the 2022 English Curry Awards said: “The curry campaign has been hugely successful across the UK with Scottish, English and London editions of the awards. The English Curry Awards were one of our first and remain one of our best awards. It’s always a brilliant night of fun, food and celebration.
“Despite the many challenges facing the curry industry, these awards prove year after year how much talent fuels the industry, satisfying all our curry cravings. We have an abundance of talent and fierce competition this year and we wish good luck to all the finalists.
