Baldwin Eatery voted Best Indian Restaurant on Long Island

After extracting a page from her mother’s cookbook, a popular restaurant has been named “Best Indian Food on Long Island” according to a recently released poll, edging out a longtime favorite.

Every year the Bethpage Best of LI asks Long Islanders to build a roadmap “to top-notch businesses and services in Nassau and Suffolk counties.”

Contest organizers have been counting votes since its inception, with winners ultimately chosen by Long Islanders who rely on these businesses every day.

This year, Raagini Best Indian Restaurant on Atlantic Avenue in Baldwin earned top marks in 2022, supplanting Suffolk County-based Curry Club in Setauket, which has won the honor for the past seven years.

“A pleasant atmosphere, polite and excellent service and delicious Indian cuisine can be found at Baldwin at Raaghi,” the pollsters said. “Have you ever walked into a restaurant between meals when staff were on a lunch/cleaning break?

“Some are close, some turn you down. Not here. Staff get up from a meal and greet you, making sure you like your table, have a menu and can order in a timely manner.”

The survey highlighted menu stables such as traditional chicken curry, Saag Paneer, Gobi Manchurian and Bhindi (okra) Masala.

For those who like it spicy, waiters can bring extra chilies for the restaurant’s Chicken Korma and Tandori mixed grill with Chicken Tikka, Boti (Lamb) Kebob or Prawns.
