  • California-based Black Bear Diner is planning expansion into Texas, including a location in San Antonio.

It’s not just California residents who are flocking to Texas. A new heartwarming dining spot based in the Sunshine State is also heading our way.

Black Bear Diner, based in Redding, Calif., will open its first location in Alamo City this summer at 2707 SE Military Dr., serving its “home comfort food classics” for breakfast, lunch and dinner. , reports the MySA news site.

The San Antonio location, which once housed the short-lived Market Barbecue, is one of six company-owned locations planned for the Lone State State. Other future locations in Texas include McAllen, Mesquite, Fort Worth and the Austin area, reports MySA.

The restaurant is known for its rib dishes, such as Chicken Fried Steak Benedict, Homemade Meatloaf, and Slow Roast.
