Chef Hitesh of ITC Royal Bengal’s fine-dining Italian restaurant Ottimo shares an easy tiramisu recipe

To celebrate the Italian Republic Day on June 2, the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) organized an authentic Italian table including the best traditional Italian desserts in major Indian cities and Kolkata, of course, in was a part of. Indulge was exclusively invited to sample the wide variety curated by Chef Hitesh from Ottimo’s Italian fine dining restaurant, ITC Royal Bengal.

For those who want to try Italian desserts at home, here is an elaborate recipe of the most popular and delicious Italian number, tiramisu. Shared by Chef Hitesh, this dish is easy to prepare and can be enjoyed any time of the day.

Tiramisu

Ingredients:

Prepare the espresso and let it cool. Separate the egg whites from the yolks, set the yolks aside and whisk the egg whites until stiff.

In another bowl, beat the egg yolks with the sugar until light and smooth, 3 to 5 minutes. Meanwhile, pour the mascarpone into a bowl and work it with a spoon to make it softer.

When the yolks are ready, add the mascarpone and slowly whip this cream for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the stiffly beaten egg whites, mixing slowly with a wooden spoon, from bottom to top, until smooth and creamy.

Now, dip the Savoiardi quickly (only 1 or 2 seconds!) in the coffee and arrange the Savoiardi in the casserole dish so that they cover the bottom. Spread the mascarpone cream over the Savoiardi, add another layer of Savoiardi, then cover with more mascarpone cream.

Leave to rest for at least 3 hours in the refrigerator before serving and once ready, sprinkle with cocoa powder and enjoy!
