Curry House unleashes scathing response to TripAdvisor reviewer who called Indian food ‘modest at best’

A CURRY house sparked a scathing response to a TripAdvisor reviewer who called their Indian cuisine “modest at best”.

The owner of Jambavan in Warwick didn’t like the reviews of his top-rated restaurant too much and instead slammed the disgruntled restaurant.

The Indian restaurant regularly receives positive reviews from its customers and is considered one of the best restaurants in town – but it seems that one visitor got a bad taste in his mouth.

A customer named Paul went on a spectacular rant in his TripAdvisor review, slamming his bad Biriani and “missing” Rogan Josh.

He called the food at the esteemed establishment “modest at best” and vowed never to return after visiting in September last year.

Paul’s wild one-star rating, titled ‘Bad food, worst service’, began: “I visited this restaurant while on a three day break from Warwick.

“After each had a starter, which was modest at best, came the main (a Rogan Josh for me and a Biriani for my girlfriend).

“The main course simply lacked any trace of spice.”

He continued: “After asking for the Rogan Josh to be given a bit of a kick as he had none at all, he was then brought back into the kitchen and brought back to me unpleasantly (sic) hot.

“Move on at the end of the evening, we were confronted with who I assume was the manager who defended the chef by saying everyone has the day off.

“We weren’t offered any deduction from the bill even though I left the Rogan Josh as it was inedible,” he said.

“He didn’t ask if we enjoyed our meal because it was obvious we didn’t. We paid the bill and left never to return.”

But proud Jambavan owner Mashuk hit back at the harsh comment with a hilarious response.

He replied: “I’m glad you’re here for a three day break, Paul, because I really can’t do with customers who like to have deductions on their bill. You never happen to me. encounter.

“We pride ourselves on the authentic food we serve, perhaps when ordering you should have specified your personal taste and another dish more suited to your palate would have been suggested.

“I have been notified that your dish has been replaced,” Mashuk wrote.

Do you want sweet! Do you want hot! You want a deduction! You want a gift! Do you know exactly what you want? Bye.

His callous reaction was applauded by the restaurant’s fans, while others praised his “outstanding” food.

One wrote: “Jambavan has got to be the best Indian restaurant in Warwickshire.

“Gourmets who want to taste authentic dishes will not be disappointed.”

Another added: “Amazing food. Cooked for our kids. The food was exceptional. We will be back soon. Thank you for a great evening!”

While a third added: “This is by far the best Indian food I’ve had. The vegetarian options were amazing.

“A fantastic and most enjoyable experience, we will be back.”

Jambavan enjoys a four and a half star rating on Tripadvisor with 302 independent reviews, 246 of which are excellent.

The house of curry even won the Travelers’ Choice 2021 award last year.
