Former IndiGo boss Aditya Ghosh launches Indian restaurant Chourangi in London


Aditya Ghosh, a renowned name in the Indian aviation industry, found her new passion in cooking. The business mogul unveiled his work of love, Restaurant Chourangi, in London on Wednesday.

Referring to this as his lifelong dream, the former IndiGo chef collaborated with his “dear friend and partner” Anjan Chatterjee, who also owns popular restaurants across India – mainland China and Oh! Calcutta between others.

Earlier on Tuesday, Ghosh shared a 23-second video clip, showing glimpses of the restaurant under construction.

Getting to know Aditya Ghosh

Ghosh was the full-time president and chief executive officer of IndiGo Airlines for a decade until 2018. Prior to that, he was the group’s general counsel for inter-global companies.

Fitness fan, Aditya Ghosh joined Oyo Rooms after IndiGo as CEO, South Asia and Board Member. He has also partnered with leading investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala for Akasa air.

Ghosh, a law graduate from the University of Delhi, was instrumental in transforming IndiGo into a profitable, world-class budget airline. Under Ghosh, IndiGo had collected approximately ??Market capitalization of 55,000 crore. Aircraft orders have risen to 450, including Airbus 321 and 320.

Ghosh was replaced in 2018 and it was the firm’s unanimous decision. IndiGo was going through a hectic time of the year. He had problems buying cheaper planes, engine problems with Pratt and Whitney. Customer dissatisfaction with engine issues and crisis handling may have been the main reasons for its exit from IndiGo.

However, Ghosh is widely credited with IndiGo’s massive market share increase and customer satisfaction.
