Going to a new restaurant can be stressful sometimes, especially when you are unfamiliar with some of the menu items. You might know exactly how you like your salad made at the salad store near you, and you might even have memorized the healthiest meals you can order from any major fast food chain.

However, when you go to a new neighborhood restaurant, you can’t always trust your old favorites. We have what you need. Vandana Sheth, RDN, CDCES, FAND, Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist and author of “My Indian Table: Quick & Tasty Vegetarian Recipes”, spoke with Eat this, not that! on the healthiest choices in most Indian restaurants.

If you’re looking for just one choice that’s going to be a solid choice, she recommends the first of those options, chana masala, which she says is a dish of “chickpeas cooked in a tomato-onion sauce.”

Sheth adds that if you go for chicken, you’d better go for a tandoori style dish than chicken tikka masala, as its yogurt and spice marinade is lighter than the heavy or thickened cream you would find in a tikka. masala. plate.
