The LV=Insurance Series Final Test kicks off on Thursday, but the Black Caps took some time off to enjoy a meal in Tharavadu.
And the New Zealand team praised their meal, signing a plate and adding: “Thank you and lovely food. We will be back.”
England secured a thrilling five-wicket win over New Zealand at Trent Bridge last week to win the three-game Test series by taking an unassailable 2-0 lead.
Setting a second set target of 299 on the final day, England hit 299 for five to set their fifth most successful run in Test history.
The third and final game kicks off on Thursday at the Emerald Stadium in Headingley.
But cricket fans may find it difficult to get to the game – as the start of the test coincides with the second day of rail strikes across the UK.
Beth West, a 29-year-old support worker from Dewsbury, said she was forced to book a hotel to make the trip.
She said: “I understand why the strikes are going on, but I can’t help but feel frustrated with the effect this is having on normal people, especially when we’re in the midst of a cost crisis. life.
“I had booked cricket tickets for the whole weekend in Leeds. I live 20 mins away but due to lack of parking/park & ride/buses not being safe for women at night , I must have spent over £400 on a hotel for the weekend.
“If trains were running, the cost would be less than a ten and it would consist of two trains which would take around 40 minutes.
“I think people who were planning to go cricket will be put off either by the lack of transport links and/or the extra cost of everything, which is a shame.”
