Omemee: A new Indian restaurant soon on Peace Road

A new restaurant serving Indian cuisine and wings will open at Foster’s former location on Peace Road. The sign is up so things are happening.

Iron Butterfly Jewelery opened across from Omemee Foodland. Owner Leanne has extensive experience in restoring and redesigning jewelry. Come and discover his creations and items for sale.

The Manvers Township Historical Society will be hosting a giant yard sale on July 29 from 4-8 p.m. and July 30 from 8-1 p.m. at Aunt Laura’s Tea Room, 1402 Hwy 7A, Bethany.

Donations can be dropped off at the tea room on July 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Countryside Pharmacy will be holding a Blood Pressure Clinic, July 28, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Register by calling 705-799-6113.

Emily Presbyterian Cemetery, located at the intersection of Emily Park Rd. and Meadowview Road, will hold its Decorating Day on July 24 at 3 p.m. A columbarium was recently installed at the cemetery. The Omemee Lioness Lions Club is holding a raffle for a Cuisart 4-Burner Gas Grill. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5 and are available by contacting Lioness Lion Pat at 705-879-2306. The draw will take place at Camp Kirk on September 3.

The club is also holding an outdoor trunk, craft and bake sale on July 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Trinity United Church parking lot on King Street.

There will be crafts, pies and cookies and lots of treasures. The Omemee Lions Club will also be hosting a BBQ.

The Omemee Swans will be having a barbecue at the Primrose Hill Mansion Historic Tour and Ice Cream Social on August 6-7. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.ca

Pickleball takes place Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting at 9 a.m. at the Omemee Curling Center on James Street. Cost is $5 per session or $40 for unlimited. You don’t need to have any experience. Come in and see what it’s all about.

Fowlers’ Corners and District Lions Club Cruise Nights at the Barn are back for the 2022 season. Cruise nights will be Thursdays, 5 p.m. to dusk, 124 Lindsay Rd.

There is no admission fee but donations will help defray costs and support the work of the Lions Club. There will be live music all summer.
